The use of European Union funding consists of two main components: a “green” component and an economic component. As part of the “green” component, the running track in Bólyi Castle Park was renovated, and old trees were pruned, maintained, and, where necessary, removed. As part of the economic function, units available for rent to small businesses in the local service sector are being created through the conversion of the industrial building on Temető Street.
The building slated for renovation previously housed a locksmith’s shop, which could no longer expand within the residential area and therefore relocated to the Bóly Industrial Park.
The local government purchased the property and decided to develop new commercial facilities that are appropriate for the residential area. The planned building complies with current energy regulations and will be heated using geothermal water. The new, modern commercial and service building will offer a variety of services designed to meet the needs of residents and improve their quality of life.
